K-2 Overhand and Underhand throwing

This past week in P.E. the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders played a few games to practice overhand/underhand throwing. This is something we've practiced previously, and at the end of the year we go back and practice the skills we've learned. One of the games we played is called Battleship. It is kind of played like the board game. For Battleship in P.E., blue gymnastic mats are set up in the middle of the gym creating a wall so the students can't see the other side. Each team sets up 10 bowling pins on their side of the mat. When the game starts, students throw dodgeballs over the wall to the other side hoping they knock down some of the other teams pins. Games are played for 3 minutes, and the team that has the most pins standing up wins the game. Below are a few pictures of the students playing Battleship.
